How much is the licensing fees?


The Electrical Contractor Examination Fee is $165.
The Journeyman Electrician Examination Fee is $115.
The Electrical Contractor Licensing Fee is $150.
The Journeyman Electrician Licensing Fee is $35.
The Electrical Contractor Renew Fee is $150.
The Journeyman Electrician Renewal Fee is $35.
The Electrical Contractor late renewal fee is $50
The Journeyman Electrician late renewal fee is $15.
Reinstatement of Electrical Contractor License fee is $250.
Provisional License fee is $75
Provisional License Renewal Fee is $75.

What are the experience requirements to for an Alabama Electrical Contractor Examination?


All Applicants applying for a state wide Alabama electrical contractor examination must demonstrate a minimum of 8,000 hours of supervisory electrical contractor experience. This experience must show that you have designed, planned, laid-out and directly supervised electrical construction activities and the installing of electrical components.

Is there any Continuing Education Requirements with the Electrical Contractor or the Journeyman license?


Electrical Contractors are required to complete 14 hours of continuing education every 2 years. At least 7 of those hours must be on the NEC.
Electrical Journeyman are not required to complete any Continuing Education for license renewal.
