Is there any Continuing Education Requirements for my license?


Yes. Every Texas electrical license holder is required to complete at least 4 hours of Continuing Education every year. The Continuing Education Course you choose must be approved by the TDLR. The course must cover the National Electrical Code, state laws and rules that regulate the conduct of licensees, and safety as defined in the NFPA 70E.

Which states does the state of Texas have reciprocity with?


The state of Texas has reciprocal agreements for Master Electricians with the state of Louisiana Contractor’s license and the state of North Carolina Master Electrician and Unlimited Electrical Contractor license.
For Texas Journeyman Electricians the state of Texas has reciprocal agreements with the following states:
• Arkansas
• Idaho
• Montana
• Nebraska
• New Mexico
• Oklahoma
• South Dakota
• Wyoming
